Former healthcare provider CEOs have joined forces on a Direct to Employer program.
The program was developed and launched under healthcare strategic advisory firm CSuite Solutions. It is designed specifically for providers and constructed on the concept of self-funded plans.
According to a news release, DTE financially links providers with patients, employee groups and others within their communities. Providers then receive reimbursement based on actual cost savings from population health protocols and working on cost-cutting directly with employers and other institutions. Employee groups are the initial target of the program, although the technology and chronic care protocols can apply to other population segments, the release reads.
Overall, providers and employers are able to equally share cost savings produced by the program.
Stewart Schaffer, managing partner of CSuite Solutions, told Becker's providers can offer these health plans under their own brand, and start-up costs for the program are $250,000 to $450,000. CSuite Solutions and employee benefit group Key Benefit Administrators will jointly operate the program.

"Under this new model, providers and employers are 'at the table' together. They are equipped with the necessary clinical and financial analysis to understand cost drivers, evaluate clinical treatment protocols, identify areas of improvement and address real plans for reducing costs and increasing quality."
