New Idaho law requires abortion providers to report personal patient information

Idaho Gov. Butch Otter, R, signed a bill into law March 22 that will require abortion providers to report the personal details of patients, according to The Hill.

The information included in these reports will include the patient's age, race, number of children and the number of past abortions. The bill also requires abortion providers to list any potential complications that may stem from the procedure.

The legislation comes after Mr. Otter signed a law March 20 requiring providers to tell women that abortions could be halted halfway through the procedure, according to a separate report from The Hill.
