Naples, Fla.-based NCH Healthcare System is outsourcing 224 employees from its food service and housekeeping departments Oct. 1, according to a Naples News report.
The system has signed an agreement with food and facilities management firm Sodexo to take over those departments. The company has provided on-site management at NCH's Downtown Naples Hospital and North Naples Hospital for the past eight years.
"Sodexo has been our partner in providing housekeeping services and food services. They have an on-site management team. Those managers have always been Sodexo employees," NCH CNO Michele Thoman, RN, said in the report. "The difference is the employees they are managing will now become Sodexo employees."
Ms. Thoman said the system is not currently looking to outsource any other departments, according to the report.
