Toledo, Ohio-based Mercy Health-St. Vincent Medical Center is cutting 24 jobs in specialty healthcare units, according to The Blade.
A hospital statement said the job cuts are related to adapting to a changing community landscape, according to the report.
St. Vincent said it won't staff its mobile stroke ICU unit from midnight to 6 a.m., when there is historically "very little demand" for the unit’s services, and it plans to move the services provided by its 2D mammography scanners at St. Vincent to other Mercy Health locations in the Cincinnati area.
According to the Blade, hospital officials said St. Vincent is also moving services provided by the hospital's specialty pain clinic to other local Mercy Health sites because of low volume.
St. Vincent's statement said the hospital does not expect job losses "given the number of open positions available throughout other areas of the hospital."
