MetroWest Medical Center, based in Framingham, Mass., has reported a $10.6 million loss for fiscal year 2010, according to a MetroWest Daily News report.
The hospital's financial losses have grown over the years. In 2008, MWMC lost $8.1 million, which grew to $9.6 million in 2009. Meanwhile, other hospitals in the area, including, Marlborough Hospital and Newton-Wellesley, recorded financial gains. Hospital officials have attempted to remedy the financial losses by cutting positions, according to the news report.
