Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth, Maine, the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce and non-profit health awareness group Health Acadia have partnered for a pilot program aimed at helping businesses lower healthcare costs by improving employee wellness and health, according to a Bangor Daily News report.
The "True Health" pilot program will be limited to 15 businesses in the pilot stage. The community health coordinator at Healthy Acadia and a Maine Coast Memorial Hospital nurse will meet with each business to help build a custom wellness program that fits the business' and employees' needs. Wellness programs may include cash incentives to boost gym attendance or healthier snacks at work.
The pilot program will also offer health screenings and help identify individual goals for employees.
