Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, N.H. has eliminated 22 positions, according to a Union Leader report.
Here are three things to know about the hospital and the layoffs.
1. The hospital has not disclosed what positions were cut or whether they were full-time or part-time jobs.
2. In a statement cited in the report, the hospital said the following: "An important part of this focus has been to adjust the skill mix of the workforce to meet the changing needs for services. In this regard, 22 positions have been eliminated while some other new job titles have been or will be created to meet the changing needs."
3. According to the report, the hospital operates Franklin (N.H.) Regional Hospital and a number of medical offices.
