KentuckyOne Health has laid off 40 employees at St. Joseph Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital East in Lexington, Ky., according to a Lexington Herald-Leader report.
KentuckyOne formed earlier this year when St. Joseph Health System in Lexington and Louisville, Ky.-based Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare merged.
A system spokesperson attributed the layoffs to a decrease in patient demand, according to the report. The types of positions eliminated and how many layoffs would occur at each hospital were not confirmed.
