Kaiser Permanente of Ohio, based in Cleveland, will lay off 58 employees by year's end as it tries to lower premiums for enrollees, according to a Plain Dealer report.
The health system began telling employees this week whether they would be among those facing a job cut, according to the report. An official said medical positions directly involved in patient care would not be affected by the layoffs. Instead, managers, administrators and supervisors will be most affected by the cuts.
Kaiser has roughly 1,800 employees at 15 locations in Cleveland.
