Hospital officials, community leaders and residents were present for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of the new Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, according to a Bulletin Review news report.
The Crawford County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees began discussions about a new hospital in 2005. Construction followed after three years of planning and research. Costs for building the new hospital are estimated to be approximately $30 million.
According to CCMH CEO Mark Rinehardt, the hospital will function on an outpatient model with a focus on increased patient privacy, staff recruitment and retention and adapting to future changes in healthcare.
