Indiana legislators: CHS' firing of Lutheran Health CEO 'raises concerns'

The northeast Indiana delegation of the General Assembly voiced its disapproval of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health System's decision to fire Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Lutheran Health Network CEO Brian Bauer June 12, according to Inside Indiana Business.

In a statement obtained by Inside Indiana Business' partner institution WPTA-12 News, state officials said they were "disappointed" by the decision.

They highlighted Mr. Bauer's commitment to the eight-hospital health system, stating he "immediately embraced our community and remained steadfast in his commitment to its betterment … [CHS'] decision to suddenly terminate such a valuable asset to the community raises local concerns over the direction of the company."
