The Indiana Hospital Association recognized two healthcare leaders with its two highest awards last week at the 2015 IHA Annual Membership Meeting, according to a news release.
Here are four things to know about what took place at the meeting.
1. Dan Evans Jr., president and CEO of Indiana University Health in Indianapolis, received the IHA Distinguished Service Awardfor outstanding achievement and dedication to his organization, its patients, the community and the profession. This award is IHA's highest honor for a hospital CEO.
2. Jim McIntire, executive vice president at the Indiana State Medical Association, received the IHA Award of Meritfor his exemplary service to healthcare. According to a news release, this award goes to an individual, other than a hospital CEO, "who has made noteworthy contributions to the healthcare field and has demonstrated a devotion to the interests and goals of hospitals and the humanitarian services they provide."
3. In addition, IHA presented its Stella Scholarship Award to Ellery Steele, a student in the Indiana University Master of Health Administration program.
4. The Indiana Hospital Association also appointed the 2016 IHA Board of Directors. They are:
