IES tapped to manage ED operations at Baylor Scott & White-Irving: 5 things to know

Fort Worth, Texas-based Integrative Emergency Services has been chosen to manage the day-to-day operations of the emergency department at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Irving (Texas).

Here are five things to know about the decision.

1. IES began managing day-to-day operations Nov. 1.

2. In this role, IES manages operations at a newly expanded ED with 55 beds, five intake rooms, a clinical observation unit and a revamped triage area. The facility treats more than 70,000 patients annually.

3. IES has brought in its experienced physicians and advanced practice practitioners to deliver emergency care services to patients.

4. Specifically, IES has hired 15 new physicians and 11 new APPs, and is bringing on additional staff with the expansion.

5. Seamus Lonergan, MD, has been named medical director of the ED at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Irving. Dr. Lonergan is board-certified in emergency medicine and trained at Oakland, Calif.-based Alameda County Medical Center and the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine.
