Hospitals are invited to submit data to the American Hospital Association's RACTrac survey by Jan. 14 on the impact of Medicare's Recovery Audit Contractor program and to attend a Jan. 5 webinar about the survey, according to a report by AHA News Now.
The free web-based RACTrac tool measures the impact of Medicare's Recovery Audit Contractor program on hospitals and helps AHA advocate for needed changes.
Nearly 1,700 hospitals have participated in RACTrac since it began collecting data in Jan. 2010, and $42 million in denied claims have been reported since then. Nearly half of all hospitals with RAC activity reported receiving at least one underpayment determination and 46 percent reported appealing at least one RAC denial.
