Hospital Prices in November Nearly 3% Higher Than Last Year

In November, overall hospital prices grew by 0.2 percent from the month prior, making them 2.7 percent higher than prices in November 2011, according to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics.

Prices are based on the BLS' producer price indices, which reflect average changes in selling prices received by domestic producers for their output. This translates to hospitals' actual or expected reimbursement for a range of treatments or services.
