Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Holy Cross Hospital has laid off 23 employees, mostly from management positions, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
The hospital did not specify which positions were eliminated, but said employees were notified of the changes in June, giving them time to find new roles within the organization.
"The decision to eliminate or consolidate positions is extremely difficult for all involved, and we thank these dedicated colleagues for their service, both to the people who rely on us and to our mission," said Christine Walker, the hospital’s director of marketing, public relations and business development.
