Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, Calif., will be laying off 175 employees in response to the economic downturn and changing reimbursements, according to a Daily Pilot report.
Hospital officials confirmed the layoffs would affect both hospitals in Newport Beach and Irvine as well as its network of healthcare centers. The layoffs will mainly affect nonclinical positions, such as medical billers and human resource employees, but no physicians.
