America's Essential Hospitals, an association representing more than 300 hospitals, appointed Wright Lassiter III, as its new board chair, effective July 1.
Mr. Lassiter is president and CEO of Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System, a role he has held since 2014. He has also served on the association's board of directors since 2014 and became chair-elect last year.
As CEO of Henry Ford Health System, he developed and maintained a Next Generation ACO, oversaw two mergers and created a physician wellness program.
Prior to his current role, he was CEO of Alameda Health System in Oakland, Calif. He holds a master's degree in health care administration from Indianapolis-based Indiana University.
America's Essential Hospitals conducts advocacy, policy development, research and education efforts on behalf of its hospitals.
