In 2017, "healthcare" was a top Google search in fewer than half of U.S. districts. Now, more than 75 percent of districts had the term as a top search, according to a Washington Post analysis of Google search data.
The publication reported the previous week that healthcare was the most popular theme for political ads in August. While a greater percentage of districts held by Democrats ranked healthcare above other search terms in 2017, today, healthcare is slightly more likely to be searched in Republican-held districts.
The Washington Post found about 44 percent of Republican districts considered in-play for flipping had healthcare among their most-searched issues in 2017.
