HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley Cuts About 40 Jobs

Kingston, N.Y.-based HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley has laid off about 40 employees, according to a Daily Freeman report.

Board chairman Cynthia Lowe did not specify which positions were affected but said some management positions were included in the eliminations, according to the report. A union official and Ms. Lowe also said nurses were not affected.

In July, HealthAlliance announced its plan to close Kingston (N.Y.) Hospital and consolidate all operations in Benedictine Hospital, which is a HealthAlliance facility located across town.
