Full-time employees at Harbor Hospital, a long-term acute-care facility in Beaumont, Texas, have received layoff notices, according to a 12NewsNow report.
The layoff news comes as Harbor has closed temporarily after an investigation found patient safety issues.
On Friday, roughly 70 employees affected by the closure were formally notified that they are being laid off, according to the report.
The employees will have a severance package until May 9, and their health insurance will run until May 31, according to Harbor Hospital Human Resources Director Justo Mendez.
The hospital plans to reopen, but at this time it is unknown exactly how long it will be before patients are admitted again, according to the report.
