The pace at which Congress is repealing the ACA is too slow, some Republican lawmakers said Wednesday, according to The Hill.
Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, in a meeting with reporters said he wants to see the ACA repealed within two to three months. "I don't think we should allow it to go beyond that window, the repeal, because I think the American people are suffering," he said, according to the report. Similarly, House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., said he would like to see the law repealed by the end of March.
"It is incredibly important for us to move quickly in order to be able to alleviate some of the fears," said Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., according to the report.
However, the Senate has not yet set a timeline.
Several Republican senators have outlined plans for a replacement, but Congress has yet to settle on a single plan to enact.
