Glens Falls (N.Y.) Hospital is laying off 29 employees and reducing work hours for another five positions, according to a Post Star report.
Hospital President and CEO David Kruczlnicki said management and support positions are affected by the layoffs, including maintenance, secretarial and case management positions. No eliminated positions were involved in direct patient care, according to the report.
The decision to implement layoffs was made after management received a report showing a $500,000 loss in October, according to the report.
All 29 employees laid off received a list of vacant positions within the hospital and were encouraged to consider applying for positions for which they may be qualified.
