Former Procter & Gamble CEO to be Nominated as VA Secretary

Today, President Obama will nominate Bob McDonald, a former CEO of Procter & Gamble, to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs, according to a report from the Washington Post.

Mr. McDonald's professional background is quite different from those who have held the position of VA Secretary in recent years. Traditionally, the role has been filled by politicians, medical professionals and retired generals.

However, Mr. McDonald does have a military background, as he is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., and he served five years in the Army, according to the report.
