Florida's Jupiter Medical Center Fights Tenet's Certificate of Need Application

Jupiter (Fla.) Medical Center has submitted a letter of opposition to a proposed hospital operated by Tenet Florida and Scripps Research Institute in Palm Beach Gardens, according to a Treasure Coast Palm report.

JMC submitted the letter to the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration to fight Tenet's certificate of need application. JMC said there are several instances of "significant discrepancies" between Tenet's public claims and the submitted CON application, according to the report.

The letter of opposition also includes dozens of letters from concerned physicians and residents of North Palm Beach County.

JMC leadership has previously expressed concern that the new facility would jeopardize existing healthcare resources in the county.

Mr. Taddeo previously penned an opinion piece in a local paper that claimed Tenet and Scripps are overstating the proposed facility's economic impact on jobs.
