Federation of American Hospitals Cuts 2Q Lobbying Expenses by 14%

The Federation of American Hospitals, which represents investor-owned hospitals and health systems, spent $570,000 on federal lobbying in the second quarter of 2011, down 14 percent from the second quarter of 2010, according to a Forbes report.

However, spending was up 4 percent from the first quarter of 2011. Lobbying focused on Medicare and Medicaid payments, group purchasing regulations and accountable care organizations, according to the report.
