Samantha Jacques, PhD, has been awarded the 2022 John D. Hughes Iconoclast Award from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation.
Dr. Jacques is the vice president of clinical engineering at McLaren Health Care in Grand Blanc, Mich., and will be presented with the award in June at the AAMI eXchange conference in San Antonio.
The award recognizes an "individual who pushes the boundaries of the healthcare technology management professional and demonstrates individual excellence, achievement, and leadership," according to a press release sent to Becker's on June 22.
"I'm humbled and honored to be named in iconoclast," Dr. Jacques said. "I've spent my career learning and sharing what I know with others. I encourage others to do the same as it will continue to grow our entire industry."
The award is co-sponsored by health technology service provider TRIMEDX and the AAMI Foundation.
