Felicia Norwood, director of the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, will step down June 15 to become an executive vice president for Anthem, according to the Herald & Review.
Ms. Norwood joined the state agency in 2015 after spending 20 years at Aetna, where she held numerous leadership positions, including president of the Mid-America region and CEO, president and COO of Aetna's population health management group, ActiveHealth Management.
In addition to her executive vice president role at Anthem, Ms. Norwood will become president of the government business division. Ms. Norwood will be responsible for Anthem's Medicaid and Medicare businesses.
"Felicia is a proven leader with extensive experience in both the healthcare industry and government," said Gail Boudreaux, Anthem's CEO. "She shares Anthem's vision of creating a better healthcare experience for our consumers and all Americans. Her deep understanding of our business and the unique needs of our consumers will be of tremendous benefit."
