The Dalai Lama remains at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic for medical evaluation and cancelled U.S. appearances scheduled for October, according to Time magazine.
The 80-year-old Tibetan Buddhist leader has been at Mayo since last week for what his representatives have called a routine checkup, according to The Brandon Sun. He has made regular visits to Mayo Clinic in recent years.
The Dalai Lama's office on Sept. 25 published a statement on its website saying Mayo Clinic physicians advised him to rest, but gave no more details about the Dalai Lama's condition.
Among the cancelled appearances the Dalai Lama was expected to make in October include the University of Colorado in Boulder, as well as visits to Salt Lake City and Philadelphia, according to Time.
