Ed Heffernan has been appointed chairman of the board of directors of Children's Health System of Texas (Children's Health) in Dallas.
Here are four things to know about Mr. Heffernan.
1. He was on the board of directors of Children's Medical Center Dallas beginning in 2012 before joining the larger system's board of directors in 2014. He also was chairman of the system's finance committee.
2. He is president and CEO of Alliance Data, a Plano, Texas-based business providing loyalty and marketing services to the Fortune 1000.
3. He is also a member of the board and long-range planning committee of the Shelton School, a Dallas private school for children with learning differences.
4. Mr. Heffernan supports the Plano (Texas) Independent School District Foundation in the North Texas area, and is a member of the PISD CEO Council.
