Mitch Leckelt, MBA, is CEO of the 25-bed Ishpeming, Mich.-based Bell Hospital, part of the U.P. Health System.
The system includes Marquette (Mich.) General Hospital and Hancock, Mich.-based Portage Health and is part of the larger Duke LifePoint Healthcare.
Mr. Leckelt accepted the position in October 2014 after serving as interim CEO for the nonprofit critical access hospital since July 2014. He stepped into the position after serving Marquette General Hospital as vice president of operations since 2010. He previously served as senior director of operations at Marrerro, La.-based West Jefferson Medical Center since 1999. Before that, Mr. Leckelt led the emergency medical services at West Jefferson as director from 1991 to 1999. He previously worked as an EMT-paramedic in New Orleans.
Mr. Leckelt earned an MBA in healthcare administration from University of Phoenix, New Orleans.
