CEO to know: Jody Lomeo, president and CEO of Kaleida Health

In April 2014, Jody L. Lomeo became president and CEO of both Buffalo, N.Y.-based Kaleida Health and the Great Lakes Health System of Western New York, the entity comprised of Kaleida Health, the University at Buffalo (N.Y), Erie County Medical Center and The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, each located in Buffalo, N.Y.

Before his current appointment, Mr. Lomeo served as interim president and CEO of Kaleida Health. As an interim leader, Mr. Lomeo is credited with re-energizing the organization with his collaborative and inclusive leadership style. He also launched a primary care strategy with Erie County Medical Center and HealthNow in Buffalo, N.Y., and worked to build partnerships with University at Buffalo Physicians Group, Buffalo Medical Group and other community physicians and physician groups.

Prior to joining Kaleida, Mr. Lomeo served as CEO of ECMC from January 2009 through April 2014. Before that, he was a member of the Erie County Medical Center board of directors for more than eight years.

Mr. Lomeo, who was also previously vice chair of Great Lakes Health, was a principal driver of collaboration between ECMC, Kaleida Health and the University at Buffalo, the entity through which that collaboration is implemented.
