CEO to know: Dr. Reginald Eadie of DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital

Reginald Eadie, MD, was named CEO of DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital, effective March 27. Dr. Eadie, who is currently CEO of DMC Harper-Hutzel Hospital in Detroit, will continue to serve in this role alongside his appointed role at Detroit Receiving Hospital.

Dr. Eadie, board-certified emergency medicine physician, is known for his work in obesity prevention. He wrote a book called How to Eat & Live Longer, and has launched several campaigns against eating fried foods and drinking soda at other DMC hospitals.

Dr. Eadie first joined DMC in 2008 when he was named vice president of medical affairs of DMC Harper University Hospital and DMC Hutzel Women's Hospital. Two years later, he was appointed president of Detroit Receiving Hospital. Dr. Eadie then served as president of DMC Sinai Grace Hospital between January 2012 and October 2013, when he became CEO of DMC Harper-Hutzel Hospital.

Prior to joining DMC, Dr. Eadie served as emergency department chief and associate chief of staff of integrated clinical services at Detroit-based John D. Dingell VA Medical Center. He is a Detroit native and received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit.
