Baylor Health to Stop Hiring Tobacco Users

Baylor Health Care System in Dallas will stop hiring workers who use any type of tobacco product starting next year, according to a KXAS report.

All employees will be screened for tobacco use. Current employees that use tobacco products will not lose their jobs, but will be forced to pay a $650 surcharge for their health insurance, according to the report.

Although some states prohibit employers from not hiring smokers, Texas does not have such a law.
