Ascension Health Michigan, a 12-hospital system based in Warren, is reorganizing its corporate structure to cut costs and streamline operations, according to a Crain's Detroit Business report.
Several Ascension executives will be promoted to a statewide leadership council that implements best practices from each of the system's five regional divisions. CEO Pat Maryland said she thinks the five systems under the Ascension Health Michigan umbrella have "functioned in silos," according to the report. This reorganization is intended to help standardize best practices across the market.
The five regions include Borgess Health in Kalamazoo, Genesys Health System in Grand Blanc, St. Joseph Health System in Tawas City, St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw and St. John Providence in Warren.
The following executives were promoted to the statewide leadership council, according to the report:
• Janice Cosby Bridges, statewide chief marketing officer effective Jan. 1. Bridges also is vice president of marketing and communications with St. John Providence. She will develop a state brand identity and renegotiate regional contracts for cost savings.
• Pat McGuire, statewide CFO and CFO of St. John Providence.
• Mary Naber, statewide chief administrative officer.
• Mary Gaughan, statewide general counsel and general counsel of St. John Providence.
• Betty Granger, statewide mission integration officer and senior vice president of mission integration at St. John Providence.
• Fred Brown, statewide chief innovation and new venture officer.
• Betsy Aderholdt, Genesys CEO.
• John Graham, CEO, St. Mary's and St. Joseph Health System.
• Paul Spaude, CEO of Borgess.
