Aramark to lay off 64 workers at Massachusetts medical group facility

Aramark, a Philadelphia-based food service, facilities and uniform services company, will lay off 64 workers at Reliant Medical Group's Durable Medical Equipment site in Auburn, Mass., reports the Worcester Business Journal.

Fifty-one food service workers, four floor technicians, two housekeepers and other workers are expected to lose their jobs by March 30, according to a notice filed with the state and obtained by the publication.

An Aramark spokesperson told the Business Journal the company's understanding is that laid-off workers will get jobs with a new provider. Worcester, Mass.-based Reliant Medical Group did not answer the publication's requests for comment.

According to Reliant Medical Group's website, Durable Medical Equipment is a subsidiary of the medical group and provides medical and rehab equipment as well as respiratory services.
