In a press release this morning, Accumen announced that Cindy Murphy, MPH Vice President of Healthcare Strategy & Performance Excellence will be presenting during a webinar presentation on Wednesday, September 21st at 2 PM EST.

SAN DIEGO, CA September 19, 2016 – Cindy Murphy, MPH Vice President of Healthcare Strategy & Performance Excellence for Accumen, Inc. is slated to present a webinar for customers and guests of McKesson Business Performance Services for Pathology and Laboratories on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 2 PM EST. In a web-based, one and a half hour session, Murphy will address the potential opportunity that exists in a common market challenge for health system clinical laboratories given today’s climate of declining reimbursements and cost reductions.

As hospital and health system executives continue to seek out opportunities to create efficiency and new revenue sources that impact the bottom line, the laboratory provides a hidden area of opportunity. While selling the hospital or health system-based laboratory may be considered as a strategy to monetize the asset for a one-time payout yet continue to offer service, it is important to weigh all options for long-term outcomes. As the most scalable department within a health system, the clinical laboratory is both integral to delivery of quality patient care, and has capacity to generate significant new revenue.
