Baraboo, Wis.-based SSM Health St. Clare Hospital confirmed May 16 Laura Jelle is no longer president of the facility, according to the Baraboo News Republic.
Here are four things to know about the situation.
1. Hospital officials told the publication an "abrupt leadership transition" took place May 11, but declined to provide additional details regarding former president Laura Jelle's departure.
"The bottom line is she's no longer here," a hospital spokesperson told the Baraboo News Republic. "It is not our policy to speak about personnel issues."
2. Ms. Jelle had served as president of the hospital since 2015, and had worked in a variety of other leadership positions at the organization since 1995, the report states.
3. Scott Wysocki, vice president of operations at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital, will serve as interim president as officials search for a permanent replacement. He told the publication a timeline for the process has not been set.
4. Mr. Wysocki said Ms. Jelle's departure will not affect care or services at the hospital.
"The providers in this organization from frontline staff to our physicians didn't change on Friday, May 11," Mr. Wysocki told the publication. "The 'we' that provides the care to this community — the high-quality care, the number of outcomes and awards and patient satisfaction — hasn't changed."
5. In a May 17 statement to Becker's Hospital Review, Mr. Wysocki said, "May 11 was Laura Jelle's last day with SSM Health St. Clare Hospital-Baraboo. We extend our gratitude to Laura for her leadership and many contributions to our organization over the past 23 years. We wish her well in her future endeavors."
