73% of Americans believe AHCA details should be public, survey finds

Seventy-three percent of Americans prefer that the discussion over the Senate’s passage of the AHCA be made public, according to a new poll conducted by CBS News.

Senate Republicans have been criticized both by Democrats and members of their own party for the secretive way they’ve gone about drafting the bill: 81 percent of Democrats and 56 percent of Republicans surveyed endorse a more public approach.

Fifty-seven percent of those surveyed would prefer that the ACA be updated, while 28 percent believe the bill should be repealed altogether.

CBS News conducted the survey from June 15 to June 18 using telephone interviews with 1117 randomly selected adults nationwide.
