Each year, Points of Light — a nonprofit organization — honors The Civic 50, a group of the 50 most community-minded companies in the U.S.
The winners must have annual revenue of at least $1 billion. They're selected via a survey in which individuals rank them based on four key factors: investment, integration, institutionalization and impact.
For 2016, six healthcare and pharmaceutical companies made the list.
- AbbVie
- Aetna
- Baxter International
- Eli Lilly and Company
- Health Care Service Corporation
- UnitedHealth Group
