5 things to know about National Hospital Week

This week is National Hospital Week, a time when healthcare institutions celebrate their organization and the people there. 

Here are five things to know about National Hospital Week, which runs May 10-16.

1. National Hospital Week has been a healthcare tradition since 1921.

2. This year's theme is, "Where miracles happen every day."

3. The week is an opportunity for hospitals to promote their organization's support of community health and recognize physicians, nurses, therapists, engineers, food service workers, volunteers, administrators and other workers, according to the American Hospital Association.

4. Hospitals can attract attention to the occasion by sharing customizable tweets with the tag #HospitalWeek.

5. Hospitals may share the AHA's new Hospitals Across America video in their communications, according to the AHA.
