New Orleans-based Tulane Lakeside Medical Center, the 235-bed teaching hospital of Tulane University School of Medicine, has undergone significant change during the past year.
Here are four things to know about Tulane Lakeside.

In the past two years, the hospital witnessed a 30 percent increase per year in orthopedic surgeries. In addition, the hospital saw a 58 percent increase in total joint replacement procedures last year.
2. These increases led Tulane Lakeside to unveil a pediatric orthopedic clinic next to Tulane Lakeside Hospital for Women and Children. The 6,000-square-foot clinic will include 11 exam rooms and will open early this year.
3. Tulane Lakeside also expanded its sports medicine program to oversee 14 athletic trainers across 22 New Orleans schools.
