2. Ascension Michigan lays off 500 hospital workers: 7 things to know
Ascension Michigan, part of St. Louis-based Ascension, laid off 500 employees, or roughly 2 percent of its 26,000-person workforce.
3. Colorado hospital slashes 272 jobs, scales back services
St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo, Colo., part of Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health, plans to lay off 272 employees, or about 34 percent of its 800-person workforce, according to The Denver Post.
