3 reasons why you shouldn't hire a workaholic

A workaholic may seem like the perfect employee, but the drawbacks of a workaholic personality should make you reconsider hiring someone whose sole focus is their job, according to Forbes.

Listed below are three reasons why you shouldn't hire a workaholic.

1. Workaholics are so singularly occupied with their own responsibilities that they have trouble empathizing with others and can be poor collaborators.

2. Someone so wholly consumed by their job is usually less likely to think creatively and instead stick to their one area of expertise.

3. Obsessive workers are more prone to burnout, and though their workaholic personality may first appear productive, it won't be long before it becomes their undoing.
