1. Clinton Hospital plans workforce reduction
Clinton (Mass.) Hospital, a member of Worcester, Mass.-based UMass Memorial Health Care, intends to eliminate 3.5 full-time equivalent nursing positions.
Mountain View, Calif.-based health insurance exchange operator eHealth plans to reduce its workforce by 15 percent as it encounters lower-than-expected membership numbers.
3. Southern Regional cutting 80 jobs
Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Ga., is cutting 80 jobs as part of organizational restructuring efforts.
4. Penn Highlands Elk laying off 28 employees
DuBois, Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare has announced plans to lay off 28 employees, reduce hours for 25 staff members and eliminate 15 jobs through attrition at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys, Pa.
5. Trios Health to lay off 40 employees
Kennewick, Wash.-based Trios Health will lay off 40 employees as part of a plan to solve the organization's financial problems.
6. SEIU suing over layoffs at Women and Infants Hospital
Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island in Providence announced plans to lay off 41 employees to control costs.
7. Layoffs planned for two Iowa mental hospitals
Employees at mental hospitals in Mount Pleasant, Iowa and Clarinda, Iowa were informed they will be laid off.
