The board of directors of the Care New England Health System, based in Providence, R.I., has named Dennis D. Keefe president and CEO, effective Aug. 1, according to a health system news release.
Mr. Keefe replaces current president and CEO John J. Hynes, who has led Care New England since its formation in 1996 and will retire at the end of 2011. Mr. Keefe will be joining Care New England after serving for Cambridge Health Alliance in Boston since 2000. During his tenure, he has worked in various capacities, including as CEO since 2002.
