Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va., has broken ground on its new $168 million children's hospital, according to an NBC12 report.
The 640,000-square-foot facility will offer outpatient pediatric care in different specialties in one location. The new children's hospital will replace the old children's pavilion, which will eventually be torn down, according to the report.
The hospital plans to open the building in 2016.
