UPMC/St. Clair Hospital Cancer Center to Expand by Nearly 25%

St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh has broken ground on an expansion of its cancer center, according to a hospital report (pdf).

The project will increase the size of the center by nearly 25 percent — adding an additional 1,885 square feet to the current 8,000 square feet — to accommodate a second linear accelerator.

Construction on the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center/St. Clair Hospital Cancer Center — a joint venture between UPMC and St. Clair Hospital — is expected to be completed in mid- to late-summer.
