Baltimore-based University of Maryland Medical System announced that its Kernan Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Hospital in Baltimore will operate as the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute, effective July 2013.
The new name reflects the facility's research efforts for the advancement of patient care and its strong ties to the University of Maryland.
The University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute has 144 beds, and it includes treatment services for amputation, rheumatology and multiple sclerosis.
