Truckee, Calif.-based Tahoe Forest Health System will soon open its new $32.6 million cancer center, according to a Sierra Sun report.
The 34,000-square-foot Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center will treat all types of cancer except for pediatric cases. The center houses a PET CT machine and a linear accelerator — radiation oncology equipment the old Tahoe Forest Cancer Center did not have.
The new center also features a video conferencing room that allows physicians to collaborate with other specialists in the UC Davis Cancer Care Center network, which the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center is part of.
